Graduate guard Jace Howard has become the second player from the Michigan men’s basketball team to enter the transfer portal, according to Travis Branham of 247 Sports and a farewell Instagram post from Howard. His decision comes with the intention of getting a medical redshirt for an additional, sixth year of collegiate basketball.
Howard battled injury this year, appearing in a reserve role in just five games. Over his five-year career he saw fluctuating roles with the Wolverines, playing his most games at 30 in the 2022-23 season and his most minutes per game in the 2023-24 season.
Howard, son of former Michigan coach Juwan Howard, was the only remaining member of the 2024-25 Wolverines to also be a part of the 2021 Big Ten Championship team.
Jace will now look to take advantage of one final year in college, this time outside of Ann Arbor
