The Ann Arbor Police Department is investigating a felonious assault that occurred near Glen and Catherine streets at about 3:25 p.m. Thursday, according to a security bulletin from the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security.

According to an X post from DPSS, the victim was a bicyclist who said he yelled at a driver in a white SUV after he was almost hit by the car while stopping at a traffic light. In response, the driver allegedly pointed a handgun at him and threatened him before fleeing toward Glen Street.

This is the second felonious assault to occur in two days, but there is no information to suggest the incidents are related. Preliminary investigations suggest this is an isolated incident with no indication of an ongoing threat to the community. Details are still being confirmed.

Anyone with information can contact the AAPD tip line at 734-794-6939, email tips@a2gov.org or call DPSS at 734-763-1131.
