A federal criminal case was filed Thursday against Michigan director of operations and sports scientist Jacob Kromberg after he was arrested by FBI agents on child pornography charges. The arrest was first reported by Robert Snell of The Detroit News.
In addition to his role with the Wolverines, Kromberg is listed as the head coach of the junior varsity soccer team at Ann Arbor Pioneer High School.
As of Thursday, Kromberg is no longer listed on the Michigan athletic directory.
“We are aware of an ongoing criminal investigation and have terminated Jacob Kromberg’s volunteer appointment, effective immediately,” a Michigan spokesperson said in a statement to The Michigan Daily. “We are unable to comment further on this ongoing case.”
